The Industrial Subcontracting and Partnership Exchange of Chongqing(SPX-CQ), People's Republic of China ( http://www.unido.org/doc/9415 ), was officially inaugurated on 15 April 2004 , at the Chongqing Exhibition Centre, with the assistance of UNIDO. Since it is the first SPX project set up in China by UNIDO, both UNIDO and Chongqing municipal government give it special and full support hoping it will be a successful example in China .
SPX Chongqing is building database according to the requirement and specification of UNIDO. With the database SPX can search and select potential vendors and upgrade their existing capabilities on the request of main contractors. The SPX has already completed 150 questionnaires. The target is 130 enterprises in database by the end of 2004 and 300 by the end of 2005. With all these enterprises' data in database, SPX Chongqing can handle the domestic and international enquires efficiently..
The SPX-CQ is a technical information, promotion and match making center with effort to increase the utilization of installed industrial capacities and to upgrade the subcontractors technological capabilities and quality management skills.
The SPX-CQ aims to develop and expand the SME business range beyond its actual scale through the provision of information, promotional and advisory services.
